Due to the extensive nature of the fire that resulted from the devastating Ghana’s military helicopter crash which occurred on the Wednesday 6th August 2025, near Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, the remains of the victims have been flown to South Africa for accurate identification by forensic DNA analysis as suggested by the expertise.

Three days of national mourning
was declared by the government starting Thursday 7th to the 9th
of August for the 8 fallen heroes as their mortal remains were brought to Accra
on the evening of that same day.
With the black box recovered, the
nation continues to await the finding from the official investigation which is
sphere headed by a joint military and civilian board of inquiry whiles other
arrangements are under way.
