As a plant that grows only on tree branches, the mistletoe
plant is believed to hold a connection between the physical and the spiritual worlds
since it can be found between heaven and the earth symbolizing blessing,
strength and protection when used as incense together with other dried fragrant
plant to refresh and create calmness in the aura or atmosphere around us.
However, mistletoe should be used externally only and one
should be cautious and handle with care, the fresh leaves, the berries or even the
dried form of mistletoe plant since it contains some toxic compounds that can
be poisonous when ingested and inhaled due to burning a larger amount when
turned into flames.
The mistletoe reminds us of balance and continuous flow of
life between the earth and the firmament when you mix a small quantity of the
dried form together with other dried herbs such as the bergamot, catnip and
eucalyptus plants among others in spiritual formulation since this combination
carries spiritual symbolism like protection, harmony and renewal, serving as a bridge
between the two realms and warding off negative energies within our space.
The smoke from this combined herbs with each one carrying their
own energetic vibrations should not be left unattended to but the intention
must be aligned together with flame at the same time for the expected results
to be achieved, clearing the mind and turning or marking our space or aura to
be sacred for divine connectivity.
